About Spain’s Residency Program

The Spanish Golden Visa grants automatic Golden Visa residency card in Spain when you purchase property for €500,000 or more. It can be one property or a combination of properties that make the sum of €500,000 or more.

Benefits of Spanish Golden Visa

The family members that you can include in the same Golden Visa application are:

• Your spouse
• Children under 18
• Children over 18 who are financially dependent on you, and don’t have a family of their own.
• Dependent parents or grandparents.
• Allows free movement for a period of time determined by the Schengen area, thus being able to visit most countries in Europe.
• You only need to visit Spain once during each residency period.
• You and your family may work in Spain

Obtaining The Spanish Golden Visa

• Once the property has been purchased in Spain, you apply for the investor visa and it has a duration of one year.
• Once the visa has been obtained, the holder can request the residence card which has a duration of two years.
• The following residence card has a duration of five years.
• The following is a permanent residence and when this residence is obtained you no longer have to justify the reasons under which you got to be a resident. For example, if you got in through a Golden Visa, you no longer have to prove that you own the property.

Obtaining Spanish citizenship via residency requires you to have been a legal resident in Spain for an uninterrupted period of 10 years immediately prior to the application. This means living in Spain 183 days per year each year.

Spanish Golden Visa Requirements

• Valid Passport for at least 2 years
• Private health insurance taken out with a company operating in Spain
• Character certificate with no criminal record
• Application form
• Proof of sufficient funds to support the applicant and family members during residence in Spain
• Documents providing proof of the investment, such as property Title.
